Don Manuel Lopez, owner of the J. Valle y Cia, established the Punch cigar brand in 1840. The Punch line takes its name from the popular character of Punch, the English puppet of the 19th century. Today's lithographed cigar boxes still show the comically-dressed Punch, his now famous smile on his face, enjoying a cigar while his faithful pet stands by.
Punch soon became a Havana cigar renowned for it's superior quality. The tremendous popularity with cigar aficionados of Punch also included Sir Winston Churchill who paid a visit to the Monte y Zulueta cigar factory during a stay in Havana, Cuba. Churchill ended up giving his name to now ubiquitous Churchill size of this premium handmade cigar brand from Cuba.
Punch cigars are characterized as medium bodied, superb construction with a sleek oily wrapper. Full flavoured and an extremely rich taste, and a fine smoothness. The flavours start with hints of coco and builds with sweet woody aromas.
About Habanos Cigars

| This is my first Cuban Punch. I hate the non-cuban Punch, but the Cuban is a smooth, medium-bodied masterpiece. Creamy from the moment I lit it. It continued for the entire length of the cigar. It had notes of cocoa and spice. A very good smoke, I highly recommend this one. |

| I am torn between these and the Epi#1. I have never had a bad Punch Punch and find the consistency from box to box appealing. For me, these are excellent after dinner smokes with great taste and a smooth smoke. |

| A beautiful smelling cigar, with a relatively flavourless natural wrapper. What I noticed most was the light flavour while being fairly spicy. It had a great draw and one of the best burns ive seen. Definatly a mild smoke. |

| This being my regular stick of choice, I can enjoy at times 3-4 a day...well balanced never an off draw...full of flavor and the aroma is fantastic. The subtle flavors creep up on you as you keep smoking. |
