Brand Profile
|
The Sancho Panza cigar brand was registered for the first time in 1848, in the name of Don Emilio Ohmsted, at 48 Angeles Street in city of Havana, Cuba. Then, during the 1880´s, the cigar factory was bought by Ramon Allones, who kept the Sancho Panza labeling, its traditional graphics and the cigars superb quality. In 1940 the brand was registered by the Rey del Mundo.
The Sancho Panza cigar is typified by classic cuban cigar characteristics. A deep richness and superbly mellow cigar, with notes of toffee and chocolate, wood and and nut flavours and a comforting earthiness throughout this fine Havana cigar. Wonderfully aromatic.
A medium strength Cuban cigar, which will be appreciated by any cigar aficionado.
With a rating of 94, the Sancho Panza Sancho was the highest rated cigar in 2007 and selected to Cigar Aficionado's Top 50 Cigars list for 2007, affirming that it is rated among the very best handmade cigars in the world. |

| "2nd Box / Very Good" |
Rating: |
Dec 15, 2005 |
| This is the 2nd box of Sancho's I purchased from Absolute. I still have the 1st one but I'm just sitting on them for as long as I can. Anyway, the date codes on both boxes indicate they're several years old. There were nice remnants of bloom on the sticks (nearest the opening of the box). Usually indicates they've aged a little. The outsides of the boxes looked a little worn and tattered, probably from sitting around awhile and possibly being respositioned time and again. In any case, the insides were totally intact and the cigars just 'stand at attention' when you open the lid and lift the paper cover. I've bought about 4 or 5 boxes in the past year (the other boxes from different vendors) and I must say I appreciate these cigars. They're a nice alternative to Monte no. 2's. Very good draw in spite I mentioned in earlier review about a couple of tighter sticks. I've upgraded my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Thanks !! |

| This is the 2nd box purchased from Absolute. The date codes from both boxes indicate they're several years old. First box I got there was a good deal of bloom on them; that was a good sign, in my opinion. Interestingly, both boxes looked well worn and a little tattered, probably an indication they've just been 'out there' for a while. In either case, the insides were in perfect condition and they smoke really well. Overall, I've bought 4-5 boxes in the past year or so (the other boxes from different vendors) and I can say the Belicoso's are a really nice alternative to Monte no. 2. They have been pretty consistent too. I like them very much and upgraded the rating to 4 stars. Thanks ! |

| I have smoked the Belicoso before and appreciate them quite a bit. They have a unique taste. The box I just received contains a couple of tightly rolled sticks, which I'll let sit for a while. I trust they will be just fine. |

| "Nice easy draw!" |

| This Cuban Belicoso has the easiest draw I've ever tried. Has a good strong, spicy flavor with a bit of charred finish. Ring size is a little inconsistant form one stick to another. |
