Brand Profile

Gispert cigars are hand made in Honduras. These tasty cigars will delight even the seasoned cigar connoisseur. Beautifully packaged in lovely semi-boite nature boxes, Gispert cigars are crafted with a unique blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan grown long filler tobaccos, a Honduran binder and a rich Ecuadorian grown Connecticut seed wrapper. Gispert cigars are moderately priced and are available in six cigar sizes.

As with many of the current non-cuban cigar lines, Gispert has a Cuban cigar cousin.  We've included the Gipert Cuban cigar profile here for your interest:

The Gispert Cuban cigar brand was created in 1940 by Simón Veja Peláez.  By the 1970s the Gispert cigars line had 11 cigars in the line.  This diminished as CubaTabaco moved emphasis away from this the Gispert brand, to the point where there were a mere 3 cigars in the line: the Habaneros No.2 cigars and two handmade cigars - Coronas and Petit Coronas Deluxe.  At the time of writing only the Gispert Habaneros No.2 cigars remain in production.

Gispert Cuban cigars are characterized as a quite mild cigar, with subtle herbal flavors.

"It was a kick in the mouth" July 13, 2006
Reading all of the reviews, I expected this to be a pretty mild cigar. Boy they were wrong. It starts out pretty subtle, but about a half inch into it it has this peppery spiciness to it until the end. The only problem I had was that it needed a couple of relights. But still, a great cigar for the price.
