Brand Profile

The H. Upmann cigars brand is known for distinguished quality and the finest flavor of old Havana premium cigars. For more than a century and a half, H.Upmann has been a staple smoke for cigar connoisseurs.

Today, the H. Upmann cigar legend lives on in the rich, smooth satisfaction of handmade cigars that are unmistakably H. Upmann. A distinctive cigar begins with fine tobacco. Tobacco that is as much a result of experience and knowledge as soil and sun. Today's H. Upmann cigar is a premium blend of long filler and natural binder, hand-wrapped in the finest quality Indonesian shade grown tobacco. That quality is immediately apparent in the silky feel and superb craftsmanship. The aroma is inviting and mellow. The taste is full-bodied, yet smooth and mild. It's what the legend is made of, known all over the cigar world as the smoking pleasure that is uniquely H. Upmann.

H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon Cigars

In the grand old days of the cigar business, Dominican H. Upmann cigars were wrapped in toothy Cameroon leaf. A chronic shortage of Cameroon in the mid-1990s prompted its maker substitute Indonesian wrapper. The taste changed. Today, Cameroon has staged a mighty comeback, allowing H. Upmann cigar brand owner Altadis to start using it again. The result is this delicious line extension to the H. Upmann cigar brand, rich in flavor and medium in body.

This is a great cigar, strong but pleasing on the palate. Flawless burn, lots of smoke and white ash....what more could you want in a one hour smoke? I'll always have these on hand

The H.Upmann Robusto Maduro is now my favorite cigar.
This is my second review on this cigar, the first one was on a sampler. This time it's from a box I purchased and I can only say that this is one of the best cigars I've had so far and I use to smoke Romeo y Julietas. I am sold on H.Upmann robustos for a long time. This cigar is amazing to me, it's slightly spicy but not too strong with a sweet coffee flavor and a beautiful aroma. I like the color of a dark wrapper as well.

I use to buy Cuban cigars but when I had my H. Upmann Robusto Maduro from a sampler I was so impressed by the appearance, the taste, ease of draw and even burn that I ordered a box. I found a great Dominican cigar for $4.00, that's hard to beat.

I usually smoke Romeo Y Julieta coronas but at times I will have a robusto. I ordered a sampler pack of Dominican robustos and in them there was an H.Upmann Robusto Maduro #100. What a good cigar, never went out, nice smoke, with a note of spices. I could taste the sweetness in my mouth, I will order a box of those next time.

The H. Upmann #100 robusto maduro is an absolutely top shelf cigar. The flavors were rich, smooth and refined. It burned a bit uneven about halfway, but as soon as it cooled a bit it straightened right out. I cannot believe these are just 4 bucks each! I've reviewed a lot of cigars here, but this is one of the only 5 star ratings I've ever handed out. I have paid $30 for a lot less cigar than this. Near perfect.

One of the best cigars I have ever smoked and I am comparing it to Cuban Montecristos, RyJs, Partagas, Dominican Montes and Cohiba Red Dots. Perhaps it does not have the snob appeal of a Cuban but I smoke for pleasure, not to impress people. Very smooth. Flawless construction. Even burn and mild down to two fingers. Does not get sour. well worth the price. I like the Dominican La Gloria Series R line too but the H. Upmanns are definitely better.
